into the mystic

On an early morning coastal walk upon the Llyn Peninsular, North Wales, looking towards Bardsey Island, otherwise known as the Isle of 20,000 saints. The morning sun is behind me as I reach a high point on the headland looking down towards a bay which is partly covered by a fog, fast rolling in across the sea.

There is a small cairn/stone marker below me as I take a photograph. A few minutes later and I’ve walked to the cairn and, by this time, the scene changes completely and the photograph I now take shows what appears to be mountains with someone or something standing, illuminated by a rainbow halo.

It isn’t mountains but is the shadow of the land where I’m standing, the cairn being illuminated by the sun behind me which is reflecting onto the fog which by now covers the waters of the bay completely.
