I'm not in agreement - don't care what the subject is

‘Diverse and inclusive’ – debatably, fairly meaningless words which many embrace notwithstanding that they’re, often, mutually exclusive.

Embrace diversity but only if your views are accepted as, basically, the only view worth holding.

‘Birds of a feather flock together’ is readily understood regardless of the language spoken or the time in history. It’s reality. When the ‘left’ and ‘right’ hold their street protests, after the venom stops dripping, do they all hold hands and stop for a refreshing cup of tea and a chat …no … they don’t like each other. They don’t embrace each other’s diversity. Why would they.

Yet both parties probably like animals, have good qualities and go home to the usual activities we engage with.

Brexit and ‘crashing out.’ Why use such a phrase when ‘walking away’ is just as appropriate. Life – as the British know it – will not dissolve into chaos just because Brexit occurs. ANY deal will be scrutinised and if found wanting provoke a negative reaction. If a no deal occurs then new arrangements get put in place.

I don’t see any debate which clarifies the reasons why and why not Brexit should happen. Just as with the same sex marriage debate where there is no debate, only positions taken and insults hurled.

The inescapable fact is that the British voted to leave and to suggest that they didn’t know what they were voting for misses the point – they voted, democratically, to leave. You can’t get away with calling people stupid and asking for yet another referendum and expect to be taken seriously as a democrat.

Why can’t we all just get along’ says a sister of mine and I’m sure her thought is echoed. I don’t like conflict, don’t seek it out, find no pleasure in winning an argument yet ‘outrage’ is the word of the day and everything is open to someone’s objection or offended feelings.

‘Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me’, the childhood rhyme remembered when the village bully was prowling. Cold comfort but reflecting reality. But now – awkward disconnects appear. That rhyme, known for centuries, no longer holds true?

Revisiting Velikovsky’s ‘Worlds in Collision’ becomes a calm reflection notwithstanding its catastrophic nature.

Spring approaches here just as Autumn appears elsewhere. We’ve had enough rain to soak the surface soil and benefit the local area but not to extend to the parched land further west.

I’m a bit perplexed … sounds like tummy ailment requiring burping …

So many issues to digest and … he cheerfully added … ‘some of them  are difficult to swallow.’
