Gravity is the force which holds the Universe together – or so I was told. The Sun was made of fire until nuclear weapons gave us an alternative, widely accepted alternative.
Strange it is that within a world used to the idea of Climate Change, all somehow our fault, something to do with Global Warming and with too much Carbon in the atmosphere and a huge societal push towards all things electric and renewable, that the idea that the Universe itself is electric somehow escapes public attention.
This is acceptable to a citizen for whom such ideas don’t impact daily life but within the Climate movement where expertise gets touted and drives agendas with huge impact upon society – this is disgraceful.
Disgraceful? The Earth has a magnetic field which is weakening. The magnetic poles are on the move. These are facts, not in dispute, but don’t make the mainstream news outlets nor do the various Green parties make mention of this.
Worth noting that it’s electric currents which create magnetic fields so gravity is not the only force at work yet an ‘Electric Universe’ is not the prevailing view within Cosmology.
The evidence is there, witness the Carrington event:
“The Carrington Event was the most intense geomagnetic storm in recorded history, peaking on 1–2 September 1859 during solar cycle 10. It created strong auroral displays that were reported globally and caused sparking and even fires in telegraph stations. The geomagnetic storm was most likely the result of a coronal mass ejection from the Sun colliding with Earth's magnetosphere. The geomagnetic storm was associated with a very bright solar flare on 1 September 1859” – Wikipedia.
The reason we see auroras more frequently at lower latitudes is due to the weakening of Earth’s magnetic field which then allows the plasma contained within a coronal mass ejection to permeate the atmosphere.
Apart from those who hold to the idea that this world was literally created within a week, the majority of those in the West probably accept a backdrop of world history, of aeons of time, of a very slow evolution with millions of years in which not much happened.
It’s a cosy idea named Uniformitarianism. It suggests that what we see in front of us, in a solar system sense, is the way it’s always been and it’s quietly embedded in our understanding of reality just as is the idea that gravity is the prevailing force in the Universe.
It’s not what the evidence contains.
Catastrophism is the alternative idea, not cosy at all, which suggests that the Earth is subject to repeated cycles of change, perhaps every ten to twelve thousand years.
Velikovsky’s remarkable book ‘Worlds in Collision’ set me off on a wondrous journey where evidence was the driving force.
The planet is experiencing extremes of weather very little of which is due to you or I.
‘Net Zero’ is beggaring societies. It’s an ideological position which couldn’t be maintained if the evidence were to be squarely faced.
Our reliance upon electricity is such that if the Sun were to belch and deliver another Carrington event our electric systems would fry.
