.......... and it is rolling on ...

‘Joy to the world’ sings through my mind as the first intimation of Spring nestles in a breeze. Not the end of Winter by a month or so and yet all growing life in the garden takes note. A stirring of the roots and everything stands a little straighter. Further down the mountain and the Magnolias are already in bloom. That distance of a dozen miles and a few hundred feet in height will delay my Magnolia for a couple of weeks. Hyacinths and daffodils push through the earth. Bulbs are wonderful. The perfume of Daphne - not a bulb and like a fine lemon sherbet to my sense of smell - makes up for the lack of perfume from the other many flowers that the one year old and myself explored the other day. A Police helicopter has been hovering over every house and backyard in the immediate vicinity. It’s the same in other suburbs and is a head scratcher just in terms of the resources involved. They’re not spending a few seconds looking for suspicious activity, heat sources and whatever - this is a good few minutes of ‘close up and personal over everything.’ - eight hours a day. Back to Lithgow tonight for a songwriter evening and then away.
