.....but only two planes .....

Not my quote - but - if you want to know who rules you then look to those whom you don’t dare criticise. One of our local ‘big four’ banks makes a miserable three billion dollars plus for their shareholders within the last few months and I’m reminded that bank robbery used to mean that someone had robbed a bank. I feel as though a fever has passed. A calm, composed character with patience as a virtue isn’t my natural state. It’s apparent that many people have neither the time nor the energy to worry about the machinations of the ‘powers that be’. Living week to week is the fate of most of us - me included - and the daily grind makes us too exhausted to mull over the fact that slavery never ended. Being a wage slave - way back when - didn’t impact hugely because inflation and variable interest rates weren’t so subject to the major swings we now experience. While the abolition of slavery went ahead within western societies and history applauds everyone concerned, many of the slave owners were quite happy to ‘give up slavery’ when the following was explained. Slaves have to be fed, housed and looked after when sick. After all, slaves are an investment. Wouldn’t it make more financial sense to ‘free the slaves’, pay them for their labour with the bare amount needed to survive and then let them pay for their own food, housing AND sickness. Gee - that makes sense. It makes sense in a world in which the love of money is the prime imperative. The financial system under which all of us exist has no problem with communism or capitalism and finances both. It finances every side of every revolution and it’s privately owned. I love ‘conspiracy theory’. I love the way that the very phrase is so emotionally loaded that, now, it actually means - ‘an idiot dreamt this up and another fool believed it.’ My favoured, ‘most absurd’ conspiracy theory is the idea that 9/11 was carried out by middle eastern terrorists. The facts disproving this are there for anyone with half a brain to see - yet - nah - physics disproves the pulverisation of three towers by two planes but – so what. ‘I don’t want to believe that my own government, or elements within it, contrived a false flag attack which allowed two wars and counting.’ .... that’s the sense I get - coupled with - ‘what’d yer gonna do about it?’ ‘Cockerel crows at the break of dawn.’ The cockerel is dependable, consistent and perhaps thinks that it is the crowing which causes rather than heralds the dawn. It’s all irrelevant to the dawn and once you get used to the crowing - as background noise - it ceases to have any effect. Perhaps it’s then time for the cock to stop crowing and let the silence become the herald of a new dawn. The song that I’ve written and then quickly recorded - because I’m too impatient to wait the extra week in order to get it right - is now transformed for the third time and replaces the earlier versions on the player here. We’re half way through summer here in Oz and the wild extremes of weather have given way to a pleasant week or so of enough cloud and sun for the still tender parts of the garden to have time to toughen up. I love ‘my’ Tree Ferns. They don’t so much dominate the garden as define it. There are now fifty or sixty or more - I did know exactly. They’re delighted with the care they receive and demonstrate it by budding from the base or - strange to witness - some of the larger ones have tree ferns growing off the main trunk. My decades long happy responsibility, within the garden, has been to cut out that which hinders growth and to dig out and transplant the budding tree ferns when they’re ‘old enough to leave home’ - and to start afresh with room to grow freely. They are such an ancient plant and connect with me like no other. Huggable, pre-historic and affectionate. If that sounds fanciful, it’s a rich and nourishing reality for me. The energy which I’ve placed into ‘learning guitar’ has temporally passed. That’s o.k. - couldn’t have written this last song without being able to ‘have a go’ at playing passing notes and bends. Ebb and flow and how we grow. ‘Chicken Little’ has been in my mind of late....... probably resonance with the cock crowing earlier ....... “The sky is falling!” is Chicken Little’s great fear. While the fable is worth revisiting, the idea that the sky is falling has some scientific truth. Our atmosphere is affected by highly energetic solar particles which - if I understand correctly - cause the atmosphere itself to expand and contract. Much like the earth is breathing in and out - and so the sky is both rising and falling. Ah !!!!!!!!!!!!!! ‘Twould be nice to end with ........ and that’s how it all fits into place ....... but a multi dimensional reality isn’t so easily encapsulated. Not by this mind, at this time and so ..... to a cup of coffee and call that ‘the answer.’ ..... geo-engineering and chemtrails certainly aren’t.
