CRUELTY SOUP
The lines are getting longer
For the poor and dispossessed
As the men about the kitchen
juggle sauce for more is less
And it’s nowhere near better
As the vultures hold and swoop
On the nearest hapless fellow
drinking cruelty soup, cruelty soup
If you never were a pirate
Or a nasty piece of work
Now’s your chance they’re calling
It’s a duty not to shirk
The villain and the ‘ne’er do wells’
Are brazen in their crime
Of course you could just join them
Forsaking all mankind
And you leave yourself wide open
To the same deceit you find
In a cruel soup a bitter fruit, a cruel double bind
..... wrote this today to a pearl jam type pattern of E, G, D, A, with an E,Bass G,A twiddly bit just to break it up. I'll try it out tonight at the Family hotel.
